Everything you type goes inside the pattern, so a contact card code is usually the densest one a person ever prints. Density is the enemy of a small print: more data means more modules, and more modules at the same physical size means each one is smaller than the camera can resolve.
On a business card, aim for 2cm or more and drop any field you do not truly need. If the code still looks like static at that size, the honest answer is that a contact card is too much data for the space - point a short link at a page with your details instead.

Yes. This tool writes vCard 3.0, which both import cleanly from a scanned code. Version 4.0 is newer but handled less consistently, and the failure mode is nasty: the code scans fine and the contact imports with half its fields missing, which the person who printed the cards never sees.
No. The code is built inside your browser and nothing is transmitted - the page works with your network connection switched off. The fields are remembered in this browser only, so you can come back and adjust a card.
Because everything is inside the pattern. Every extra field makes the code denser, and a denser code needs to be printed larger to stay scannable. If yours looks like static, cut the fields you do not need - a job title and a website are usually the first two to go.
Static is right for one person's card: it works forever, needs no account, and there is nothing to keep paying for. It stops being right when details change - a static card printed with an old phone number is simply wrong, and the only fix is reprinting.
